Children’s House Assistant Teacher for 2019-2020 School Year

Shrewsbury Montessori School (SMS) seeks a full time Montessori Assistant Teacher (1.0 FTE). Candidates must have previous experience working with children. Montessori experience is a plus, but not required. Opportunities for Montessori training may be available. The assistant teacher will support the smooth daily routines and operation of a class of approximately 20 students, ages 3-6. The assistant teacher works under the guidance of a Montessori credentialed lead teacher to ensure a high quality learning experience for all children. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to organizing and preparing materials, keeping the classroom orderly and clean, record keeping, arrival and dismissal of students, and facilitating the learning process for each child. This position supports the Montessori teaching method by helping guide the child through self-directed activities, allowing the child to develop at their own pace. The assistant works with the lead teacher to foster a loving, nurturing, safe, and stimulating non-competitive environment.

Part Time After School Teacher for 2019-2020 School Year

Shrewsbury Montessori School is seeking a part time (0.5 FTE) After School teacher to work Monday through Friday from 2-5:30pm. Our team works with 10-30 children on any given day. Students are offered a variety of activities each day with the opportunity for outdoor and indoor activities, working individually, with a friend, or in small groups. Activities include art, crafts, music games, cooking, and movement related to the weekly theme as well as other age-appropriate activities. The program is designed to create a low-key fun environment for children to relax and enjoy time with friends.

Front Desk Receptionist for 2019-2020 School Year

Shrewsbury Montessori is seeking a Front Desk Receptionist for the 2019-2020 School Year beginning the last week of August. The Receptionist plays an important role in the school, greeting all visitors and current families. The Receptionist works to support the smooth operation of the office and is at the hub of school communication.

Part Time After School Lead Teacher for 2019-2020 School Year

Shrewsbury Montessori School is seeking a part time After School Lead Teacher to work Monday through Friday from 1:30pm-5:30pm. The After School Lead Teacher oversees the After School Programs. The elementary program (grades 1-6) has up to 15 children and the younger program (preschool-kindergarten) has up to 30 children on any given day. Children are offered a variety of activities each day with the opportunity for outdoor and indoor activities, working individually, with a friend, or in small groups. Activities include art, crafts, music games, cooking, and movement related to the weekly theme as well as other age-appropriate activities. The program is designed to create a low-key fun environment for children to relax and enjoy time with friends. The After School Lead Teacher works with the team to plan and implement daily activities.
